WHAT MAKES US, US!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

3D Directions was founded after recognizing the massive need in the military lifecycle sustainment arena.

Today's warfighter needs to be able to rely on their equipment, and with many items no longer sustained or difficult to ascertain this leaves a critical gap in our military defenses.

HOW WE'VE GROWN

Though government contract work was the start of it all, our expertise has quickly grown to other areas using additive manufacturing. We've worked with a number of educational institutions, nonprofits, and government agencies to identify issues and opportunities in their chains where advanced additive manufacturing could provide long term benefits.

WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE

Additive Manufacturing Part Production Experience

Experienced Cost Model Analysis

Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) CAD Capabilities

3D Scanning

Reverse Engineering

In-house Polymer Printing, with Metal Printing Options Available

3D DIRECTIONS BEGINS WITH EXPERT LEADERSHIP

Dr. Christopher Barrett is the President and Founder of 3D Directions. He brings significant technical scientific and engineering experience, working in the Reverse Engineering and Additive Manufacturing space. He holds a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering which was focused on Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion sensor development. During this process he was exposed and had hands on experience with all seven types of additive manufacturing while working at America Makes.

Christopher has performed extensive research on the capabilities and functions of different AM materials and equipment, publishing data in various peer-reviewed journals and presenting at various science and manufacturing conferences. However, his current focus has been on the reverse engineering and rapid prototyping through scientific expertise, complex CAD design, and a vast network of skilled manufacturers.
